The summer reading program for all age groups begins June 1st and runs through July 24th. Register online or at the library. Reading logs for kids and teens and BINGO boards for adults will be available online or at the library beginning June 1st.
The children's program consists of two parts—a reading challenge and scheduled activities. For the reading challenge, children earn rewards based on the number of hours or books they have read. Once they’ve completed the challenge, they will be eligible to adopt their own reading buddy. Activities are held weekly, though attendance is not required to participate in the reading program. Programs and crafts are appropriate for kids age 5 and up and are held on Wednesdays at 10:30 at the community center.
Teens keep track of their reading time with a reading log. Those who complete the first level will earn a themed water bottle or travel mug. Teens who complete the program will be entered into a drawing for a Kindle Fire tablet. Take-and-Make kits are available for pick up every two weeks.
Adults who complete a BINGO board will receive a themed water bottle or travel mug. Events for adults are held every other Thursday at 6:30 at the library.
