The Summer Reading Program begins June 3 and runs through July 31. This year’s theme, “A Universe of Stories,” explores all sorts of space-related topics from the night sky to black holes and more. It is free and open to children of all ages and abilities.
The program consists of two parts—a reading challenge and scheduled activities. For the reading challenge, children earn rewards based on the number of hours or books they have read. Once they’ve completed the challenge, they will be entered into a drawing for larger prizes. Activities are held weekly, though attendance is not required to participate in the reading program. Programs and crafts are appropriate for kids age 5 and up.
